Weiss challenges BDSM&#39;s portrayal of itself [see <a href=\"http:\/\/life.salon.com\/2012\/01\/12\/bdsm_its_less_transgressive_than_you_think\/singleton\/\">review\/interview<\/a> in Salon], saying that:<\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#39;s not diverse.<\/strong> Weiss finds that, at least in San Fran, the community is boringly white in its racial homogeneity.<\/p>\n<p><b>It&#39;s not wild.<\/b> Strict rules govern scenes.<\/p>\n<p><b>It&#39;s not transcendent. <\/b>It&#39;s mired in consumerism [all those special toys!] and reproducing societal inequities.<\/p>\n<p>I&#39;m definitely interested in reading this analysis.
