Faith, Hope, Charity, Prudence and Chastity are a few of these <a href=\"http:\/\/www.slate.com\/blogs\/the_vault\/2013\/09\/13\/puritan_names_lists_of_bizarre_religious_nomenclature_used_by_puritans.html\">virtue names<\/a> that have survived to the modern era. Others of them have died out, including Obedience, Abstinence, Humiliation&#8230;and Submit. <\/p>\n<p>The only reason that I&#8217;m familiar with Submit as a name is that my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmother on my dad&#8217;s side was named Submit. I&#8217;ve always thought that was really cool, so I named one of my dolls Submit.
