For context, Daz produces digital models and ancillary content; one of their most popular characters is Aiko, a model with manga-inspired proportions and appearance [who, I might add, grows less manga-like and more realistic with each iteration \ud83d\ude41 ]. The latest version, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\/aiko-6\">Aiko 6,<\/a> debuted recently, and so has new content for her. Daz also recently released <a href=\"http:\/\/www.daz3d.com\/lee-6\">Lee 6,<\/a> &quot;an Asian-inspired character for Genesis 2 Male(s)&quot; [their words, not mine], so content for this character has been appearing as well.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oddpla.net\/blog\/miscdaz\/misc\/racistdazsale.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br type=\"_moz\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And what better way to advertise all these new digital offerings than with a sale whose name plays on the supposedly nonsensical English at work in stereotypical names of U.S. Chinese restaurants? What better way indeed&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I sent the following to their customer service:<\/p>\n<p><em>I think it&#8217;s in really poor taste to name a sale of Aiko 6-related items &quot;Happy Yummy Good Times Savings&quot; as a sort of parody of the stereotypical names of Chinese restaurants in the U.S. Please consider future sales names that are more descriptive and less mocking.
