We missed seeing Barb Pitfido’s Lego layout at the Vermont Rails Train Show<\/a> last month because her partner was sick. \ud83d\ude41 Fortunately, she found this blog and invited me to come to her house to see the set-up that she had prepared for the event. I was privileged to attend a private, in-home showing of her latest work, “Paris in the Spring.” Photos below. Click to enlarge.<\/p>\n

The iconic Eiffel Tower appeared at the center of the scene, surmounted by a surprisingly minuscule King Kong and encircled by various flying craft.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A sidewalk cafe gathered many patrons, enjoying the beautiful weather.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"The<\/a>
The chef greeted adoring fans from his balcony. Note seashells and croissants as architectural details.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\"Papparazzi<\/a>
Papparazzi lurked outside, eager to get a shot of Kim Kardashian [center, under Chez Albert awning]. Meanwhile, a transaction of a questionable nature occurred [far left midground] between a “lady of the evening” [Barb’s phrase, not mine] and a loaded customer.<\/figcaption><\/figure>
\"Meanwhile<\/a>
Adele [far left background, with mike] performed in the nearby park, while people purchased flowers from a cart.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n
\"Behind<\/a>
Behind the restaurant camped my favorite of all Barb’s characters, the aliens. Previously warmongering and rapacious plunderers set on conquest of Earth, the space individuals have now assimilated into quiet domestic squalor. They all became thoroughly soused on cheap French wine, unaware that a horde of spiders were intent on stealing their picnic.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

\"Though<\/a>
Though having been on Earth for several years, the aliens remained confused about the purpose of Dumpsters. Two of them thought that the trash bins would make good sleeping quarters. The local rat colony [lower right] fled in despair.<\/figcaption><\/figure>

Behind the restaurant, a residential street featured a plethora of bikes and ForTwo SmartCars, as well as a merry-go-round [right background].<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/p>\n

The cats had better things to do than stay cooped up in their owner’s garret atelier.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Disco<\/a>
Disco came back on a very small scale during a two-person dance party on the roof.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Over<\/a>
Over in front of the park, the boulangerie specialized in alarmingly large baguettes, while someone dressed as a hot dog exhorted passersby to eat food shaped like him. Mimes silently climbed invisible steps, while punks enjoyed lollipops, and street artists plied their trade.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A panorama of the esplanade showed a flurry of activity in all quarters. Gardeners [left midground] glanced with fascination at the family, all in matching sweaters, getting their photo taken in front of a small Statue of Liberty. Kids [center midground] sailed toy boats in the fountain, while more landscaping happened in the right rear sector.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

A jam session occurred in the background, a soccer game in the midground, and a full-blown freak-out over the Easter Bunny in the foreground.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
