Everything starts out seemingly normal, yet still uncomfortably&#8230;cockeyed, and then it quickly progresses into an exquisitely torturous phantasmagoria in which the elements that you would least suspect to betray you do just that, turning the world into a pathetic fallacy of misery.<\/p>\n<p>I think of the <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/poems-and-poets\/poems\/detail\/45706\">I felt a Funeral, in my Brain<\/a><\/em> poem by Emily Dickinson, which is also about sound overwhelming sense. I also think of her poem <em><a href=\"https:\/\/genius.com\/Emily-dickinson-he-fumbles-at-your-soul-315-annotated\">He fumbles at your Soul,<\/a><\/em> though that could be more of a description of Poe&#8217;s authorial technique.<\/p>\n<p>If Emily Dickinson had a motto, it would be <em>Death, God, and Bees &#8212; Lots and Lots of &#8212; Bees.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<p>Some things that fly there be \u2014<br \/>\nBirds \u2014 Hours \u2014 the Bumblebee \u2014<br \/>\nOf these no Elegy.<\/p>\n<p>Some things that stay there be \u2014<br \/>\nGrief \u2014 Hills \u2014 Eternity \u2014<br \/>\nNor this behooveth me.<\/p>\n<p>There are that resting, rise.<br \/>\nCan I expound the skies?<br \/>\nHow still the Riddle lies! <\/p>\n<p>How does she do that?
