I still enjoy it for all the reasons that I <a href=\"http:\/\/blogofstench.livejournal.com\/161002.html\">enumerated in my first review.<\/a> I also enjoy it because of its aesthetic choices. The show characterizes its personalities with the use of extremes. For example, Emerson the PI just doesn&#8217;t enjoy knitting; he carries knitting needles everywhere, lines his desk drawers with self-knitted socks and ogles knitting pop-up books. Olive the waiter just doesn&#8217;t have a mild penchant for paisley; she has an entire house decorated in it, from wallpaper to rug to upholstery. The use of bright, obvious extremity telegraphs information about personalities definitively, quickly and humorously. I am trying to pursue such a stylized means of character development in some parts of LHF, so I watch Pushing Daisies&#8217; use of exaggeration with interest.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pushing Daisies is still blooming.
