I always knew that I wanted the money from Master Works to go to a local-to-me organization. I chose Migrant Justice because it is Burlington-based, supporting workers’ rights, migrant rights, people of color, and local organizing! Another reason for my support of this organization hit closer to home when I heard on Twitter about the death of Durvi Martinez, a trans person and leader of Migrant Justice, who was deported by ICE and who died of Covid-19 despite a pending asylum claim.
