Soom's monthly doll in the Mega Gem size is Quartz the Ice Dragon, your standard cute, androgynous guy with fantasy parts. Nice dolly, but why are his wings made out of tinsel and cubic zirconium? Is there a resin shortage in South Korea? If I'm buying a doll that starts at $750.00 [which I'm not], excluding options and shipping, I expect wings of a better quality than those I could get off an Xmas ornament from the dollar store.

With those feet (which I like), I would have expected a craggier face. Something a little sharper, that looked more like “ice” or “dragon.” I think you hit the nail on the head with “cute, androgynous guy.” His face doesn’t really look like anything special to me. And yes, “dragon” should have great honking wings, not dainty little bits of crochet. I did notice there were no good closeups of the wings; I wonder if they were anticipating comments like yours.
Re: the dolly: I am … really enamored of this doll, actually… love the design, and that thing he’s wearing on his neck really strikes the right note with me. In total agreement on both wings and price though– the wings aren’t large enough and aren’t very… magnificent looking, I guess (though the metallic color pleases me, but too much of a fiddly filigree look and could have done more with like, silvery ribbing on a crystal-looking batlike wing). And without wings that do him justice I wouldn’t be inclined to pay that kind of a price for him because I’m not sure if he’s quite right to me without the wings.
