I’m moving in to my new place, a two-bedroom apartment. Dolls are going everywhere!!
The dolls, naturally, have the larger bedroom. The picture on the left is an enlargement of a late 19th century chromolithograph trade card advertising Diamond Dyes [a company incidentally based in Burlington]!Before putting small populations on shelves.
I have fewer bookcases than in my previous place, so I crammed a lot onto this shelf. From the top to the bottom, left to right, we have the Mattel Barbie Coca Cola Soda Fountain [now a generic sales counter], the Battat Glitter Girls Sweet Shop, a kitchen with my favorite kitchen stuff, and the reading room/conversation pit. The Magister’s steampunk airship cabin is on the floor on the right.
The core Hardshippers hang out on the bookshelf in the doll room, waiting for a more comfortable set.I added another desk to the doll room so that I can have another set out. The core Hardshippers immediately occupied the Dia de los Muertos roombox and complained that the walls were too short. Ingrates!!Did I mention that doll stuff was EVERYWHERE? My entire collection of miniature footwear now graces the kitchen. At long last I have enough space to display it all!Dolls live in my bedroom as well. House Rainbow Barf is now set up on top of my dresser.
They’ve even taken over the living room. I removed the doors from the front closet and turned the top shelf into a Flaming Hot Pussy concert. Below, behind the hot pink curtain, I have boxes of sets and accessories in storage.
I got a black shelf, originally made to hold CDs, to show off my Shameless Envy decorated skulls, and a few 1:6 scale things, like my dead version of Isabel and my Angel of Grief mini statue. This is also in the living room.
