Today I finished my fourth doll of Silence: Mini Silencitx! This is when she’s just a very little dorklet, maybe about five.
This doll started off as an unpainted WorldBox Lakor Baby archer girl [Kyudo Girl?] head for a 7″, 1:6 scale kid action figure. The body is a Mr. Z brand body for 1:6 scale kids, although I swapped the hands out for Obitsu 21cm gripping hands and the feet for Spin Master Liv feet. Overall, the Mr. Z body is broad and solid, in a tan color with greyish undertones. I decided to cover most of Mini Silencitx up and give her a lighter skintone with more peach and orange.
I was initially concerned about the headsculpt because it has very chibified proportions, especially with the low-set eyes and ears, small mouth, huge forehead, and saucer eyes. I like toony dolls, but I don’t really like chibi dolls, so I hoped that I could make the sculpt work for Mini Silencitx. I did so by removing the sculpted eyebrows and doing my usual stylized duochrome faceup, accentuating the horizontal lines of her eyebrows and mouth. She even has her little eyebags! Her braid is made out of string with a bead for a holder.
I wanted her to look chubby, so she’s wearing a Mattel Creatable World tank top over an MGA Rainbow High crop top and cut-down Mattel Barbie leggings. These clothes also accommodate movement without bunching up too much or exposing her. After these pictures were taken, I gave her smaller feets and shuz. She seems to be just the right size for Ginny’s Gym, which the larger dorklets have been playing with.
I’m going to make a mini Ethancitx, but I will not make mini versions of all the dorklets. Mini Ethancitx is actually like 75% done, but I’m not sure when I’ll finish him.
