Just like yesterday. First, in an effort to whiten Novella’s head, I stuck her in a shot glass of 70% isopropyl alcohol with a plastic bag rubber-banded over the top so the alcohol didn’t escape. I soaked her from 6 PM last night to 1 PM this afternoon, then cleaned her off for 45 minutes with a melamine sponge.
This is what she looked like before treatment:
This is what she looks like now:
I can’t really tell, but I think she lightened slightly. Maybe I’ll try sanding her when my hands don’t hurt so much.
Second, I wanted to remove Mellifer’s too-dark default eyelashes and eyebrows. When I did so, there was a screamingly obvious difference between his eye area and the resin elsewhere on his face, so I ended up removing all his faceup. He seems puzzled, rather than annoyed, by the current state of affairs.
Finally, I wired Absinthe’s arms and legs, stuck her wig on better with sticky tack and gave her an improved temporary outfit. She’s very pleased that she can now pose well!
While I had my doll clothes out, I threw some pieces on Novella that I may use for her outfit. My original concept of a Medusa raver girl has derailed somewhat and veered toward that of a Medusa LHF girl with raver elements. This is clearly my signature style. :p

I’ve realized my fashion sense is essentially a more tailored and understated version of the LHF style.
My favorite uniform is a shirt with some pattern on it, a vest, sailor pants, hair all spiky.
Shoes are a problem though, because the boots I like best (chelsea boots) are not good for standing in all day.
I think Novella’s face is still rather yellow around her mouth and jaw – I guess because the resin is thicker there. Otherwise, she’s looking great.
