This photostory stars a doll from the 1880s or 1890s given to me by my friend Lyrajean. It has a bisque hand-painted head and a composition body [made of wood pulp mixed with glue] that has been badly repainted. She said it was worthless and gave it to me. I thought its expression of hostility and permanent bad mood was hilarious, so out came this photostory.
The poseability of the doll’s ball-jointed neck compensates somewhat for the basic articulation at shoulders and hips.
Note that Modern Pippi is offering to show one of the Swedish Pippi Longstocking movies from the 1970s [?] that we grew up watching on badly dubbed VHS cassettes!!
