Adapting Sylvia’s arms

Adapting Sylvia’s arms published on No Comments on Adapting Sylvia’s arms

I just figured out how to shorten Sylvia’s upper arms, while retaining the swivel motion. Basically I will be fusing the upper arm swivel joint and transferring the swivel to the elbow joint.

1) FUSE upper arm swivel with Aves Apoxie Sculpt.

2) CUT upper arm above elbow joint to desired length.

3) CORE lower arm and upper arm with Dremel.

4) SINK coated wire in lower arm, secured with hot glue or more Apoxie Sculpt.

The wired lower arm can then be friction-fit into the upper arm socket, with hot glue acting as fill if the fit needs to be tighter.

This process represents much the same series of mods that I did on Barrett, with two differences. First,  Barrett had no separate upper arm swivels to fuse. Second, I did not shorten his upper arms. Same principle, though. Here’s the diagram I created for Barrett.

I can’t wait to do this!
