Noodge’s clothes

Noodge’s clothes published on No Comments on Noodge’s clothes

Noodge is getting a T-shirt and a pair of leggings made by Spampy’s Stuff. Each piece of material that makes up each item of clothing will have a different pattern on it, so that the whole effect looks like a purposely clashing patchwork…with a skull and crossbones on the chest, of course. Hee hee hee. Noodge, like Sardonix, will definitely be barefoot and quite possible bald as well.

Verdict: Creamy, sweet, milky chocolate mixes well with chewy small bits of salty-sweet bacon. These flavors really complement each other, providing an overall depth of flavor that, while not sophisticated, is robust and pleasurable. It’s not worth the ridiculously high price that I paid for it, but it is a very good bar. If someone else buys it, you should ask to try some squares.

Verdict: Dark chocolate with an afterburn. The cinnamon and chilies combine to leave one’s mouth pleasantly tingly and warm after eating. Other than that, it’s a regular bar with the usual taste of dark chocolate overwhelming any tastes contributed by the cinnamon and chilies. Not worth the inflated price I paid.

My Fairyland Realpuki is going to be named Noodge, and she’s going to be Sardonix’ dolly minion [aka scapegoat for Sardonix’ mischief]. She was going to be a sweet little fairy doll, but the concept grew a life of its own. Sigh.

I can just see Sardonix now, waving her doll in front of Sarah. "Pay attention to my Noodge!"

"YOU’RE a noodge!"

Verdict: Sweet, smooth milk chocolate blends with equally sweet and smooth cream filling with a sparky flavor from freeze-dried strawberries. The creaminess of the chocolate mixes well with the slightly lighter weight of the cream filling. This is a squishy, rich bar — I could only eat half at once — with a dominant, but complex, taste. The two sweetnesses together may be too much for some people, but I really liked it. This is delicious high-grade chocolate for a decent price. Buy it!

I’m not a food connoisseur, but I like good food. I went to Cardullo’s in Harvard Square today and returned with $mumble$ of specialty chocoate: two Ritter Sport milk chocolate bars with strawberry creme [favorably reviewed by all the candy blogs I was drooling over yesterday], a Vosges Red Fire Bar [ancho and chipotle chilies, cinnamon, 55% cacao] and a Vosges Mo’s Bacon Bar [bacon, smoked salt, 45% cacao]. Here is a picture of my haul. Tasting reports later. Continue reading Gourmet chocolate

Fairyland RealPuki Soso coming…eventually.

Ever since I saw a RealPuki Soso at doll club earlier this year, I’ve really liked RealPukis, my favorite being Soso [shown in the link]. Soso nownow I’m getting my ownown, as a mischievous doll for Sardonix [like she needs more mischief in her life] and someone for Precious Little to play with [like dolls’ dolls need playmates]. I should have the unnamed Soso by the new year, since processing takes 8-10 weeks. Booooo hisssss.

In tribute to my grandmother, who died in July, I’m redoing all of season 2 [in which Anneka’s grandmother dies] with dolls, rather than digital renders. In another one of his flashbacks triggered by being around Anneka’s dying grandmother, Will remembers the time over 100 years ago when his old girlfriend, Absinthe, tried to vamp him.

In our previous ep, Anneka mentioned that she was resting while Will was talking to her parents. Here are the excruciating details of that conversation.

I don’t know where my 1:3 Tarot cards went or my 1:3 book about Puritan cemetery iconography [handmade by me], so I bought some new mini Tarot cards and books for my 1:3ers. I got them a mini version of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and a mini book of The Raven and two tales by Poe. The total shipping was more than the total price of the items. :p Anyway, then they won’t get bored if they want to do something other than talking to each other.

Behold her now with incorrect faceup, eyes and wig. Soon her head will be off to Arianne02 for repainting; she’ll get some green eyes and brown hair [and pink hair!], and she’ll be set. For now, we get some pictures. Lovely, fashionable outfit is by an42 or DollsAhoy.

Note to self: Get some 12 gauge wire for Sarah’s arms. Continue reading Sarah’s here!

Sarah’s coming together!

My doll Sarah’s jeans and loafers have been purchased and will soon be in the mail.

I have an inquiry in to PamSD about making her poet’s blouse and vest.

I’m also hoping to commission Lynn Nexus on DOA to make 2 yarn wigs, one wiggly and hot pink, to satisfy my desires for pink hair, and one straight and dark brown, for hair like Sarah had in the movie.

And Arianne02 has agreed to do a custom faceup on Sarah that will give her a complexion and features like Sarah’s in the movie!

I can’t wait. She’s gonna be really cute. Now I just need to find some 16mm hazel or green eyes….

EDIT: Green eyes found and ordered!

Welcome home, Sarah!

Welcome home, Sarah! published on No Comments on Welcome home, Sarah!

I’m buying a Souldoll Shiva G from the DoA marketplace. Her name is Sarah, inspired by Sarah from Labyrinth [dreamy, bookish and shy, but not as whiny or as stupid with her mouth hanging open]. She’s coming with this outfit.

Right now I have conflicting ideas about how I want to set her up. [I usually paint and dress my dolls once, then keep them that way, unless they are Anneka, Will or Velvette.] Part of me wants to prepare her as Sarah from Labyrinth, with long straight brown hair, brown eyes, jeans, peasant blouse, vest and loafers. Another part of me wants to put her in green eyes, pink ponytails, my an42 pink and orange paisley dress, black and white stripey socks. Of course, the beauty of BJDs is that I can prepare her both ways, but I’m just trying to decide which look to invest in first.

Since I have the paisley dress and the stripey socks, I think I will go with the obnoxious pink look first!

As Sarah is coming with a wig, eyes and clothes [even though they are out of character], I don’t really need to prepare anything for her arrival except some footwear. I sold all my BJD shoes when I got rid of Jareth, Frank and Jennifer because my remaining BJD, Sardonix, goes barefoot [and wigless — very low maintenance!]. I hope to get Sarah some loafers from the DoA marketplace, barring that, some boring black boots. [At 8.3 cm long, Souldoll Zenith girls have big feet compared to other female dolls in the 70cm range, which makes shoe shopping hard.]

I’m also excited to report that I’ll be moving my big dolls [all 2 of them, Sardonix and Junebug] this evening. They currently sit on the very top shelf of my tallest doll bookshelf in my bedroom. Above eye level, they are isolated and rarely admired. I’m transferring them to the first shelf of my bookcase in the living room. They will then be directly across the room from my chair, where I sit to use my computer and read. I will then look up and see Sardonix with her arms folded and Junebug with her happy smile and, soon, Sarah with her wistful expression. All three of them should make good friends.

Souldoll Shiva/Chantal???

…Or would a sweet-looking Souldoll Shiva/Chantal [human version, 2 arms, white or normal skin] be a better choice than a Soom Breccia? She has such a dreamy, questioning look. She looks like a Sarah, and Soom Breccia doesn’t. [Apparently this doll’s name is going to be Sarah!] Breccia looks a little vapid compared with Shiva. Shiva also comes with a double-jointed body, while Breccia’s body is single-jointed and supposedly not that poseable.

Spirit Doll $380.00 w/o s/h, shoulder width 11.5 cm, neck circ 9.5 cm
Super Gem —, shoulder width 10.5 cm, neck circ 10 cm

Looks like the Spirit Doll body would be the most proportionate…also the most expensive…but it does have the "big boobs" option!
